An extinct marsh wren from North America, Cistothorus brevis is known from Pleistocene fossil deposits of the United States. A small insectivorous passerine of the family Troglodytidae, it inhabited marshes and reed beds. Its fossil record contributes to knowledge of Quaternary avian communities in North American wetland habitats.

Cistothorus brevis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
