Cygnus hibbardi is an extinct swan (Anatidae) from Pliocene deposits of the western United States, named in honour of geologist Claude Hibbard. A large herbivorous waterfowl, it inhabited freshwater lakes and wetlands of the Great Plains region during a period of warmer, wetter climate before Pleistocene glaciation. Skeletal material recovered from Kansas and Nebraska indicates a bird comparable in size to the modern trumpeter swan. It represents one of the North American endemic Pliocene swan lineages.
