<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="dege-hendeyi"></dinofyi-dinosaur>†Dege hendeyi is an extinct carnivorous bird from Pliocene deposits of South Africa. Known from fragmentary bones, it represents an early raptor or predatory seabird lineage. Its discovery in southern Africa contributes to understanding the Neogene avifauna of the region and the origins of modern African raptor diversity.
Diet & Feeding
Dege hendeyi was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
