Speotyto is an extinct owl genus from Pleistocene deposits of the United States, closely related to the living burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia). These fossils contribute to understanding Quaternary changes in North American raptor diversity.

Carnivore

Speotyto was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
