Argillipes aurorum

Argillipes aurorum

†Argillipes aurorum is the type ichnospecies of Argillipes, a small wading bird trackway from Eocene Belgium. These narrow, tridactyl footprints with elongated digit impressions are attributed to a small charadriiform-like wader probing muddy lake shores. Found in the Laekenian marine and continental deposits of the Brussels region, they represent early Eocene shorebird diversity in northwestern Europe.
