Byronosaurus jaffei

† Byronosaurus jaffei is the type species of the troodontid genus Byronosaurus from the Late Cretaceous Djadokhta Formation of Mongolia. Named in honor of collector Byron Jaffe, this small carnivorous theropod weighed approximately 3–4 kg and measured roughly 1.5 m in length. Its unserrated teeth differ from many troodontids, hinting at a specialized diet. Specimens have been found in close association with Oviraptor nests, raising questions about interspecies ecology.
