† Thanatotheristes degrootorum is a Late Cretaceous tyrannosaurid from the Foremost Formation of Alberta, Canada, one of the oldest known North American tyrannosaurines. Its distinctive tall, narrow skull sets it apart from the geologically younger Tyrannosaurus.
