Camarasaurus grandis

† Camarasaurus grandis was a large species of the sauropod genus Camarasaurus from the Late Jurassic Morrison Formation of North America. Among the larger Camarasaurus species, it was a quadrupedal herbivore with a deep skull, robust spatulate teeth, and excavated vertebrae. Well-represented by multiple specimens including near-complete skulls, C. grandis contributed substantially to early understanding of sauropod anatomy.
