Related to the California condor. G. kofordi was among the multiple Pleistocene condor species that went extinct following megafaunal collapse ~12,000 years ago.
Diet & Feeding
Gymnogyps kofordi was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
