An extinct herbivorous dove from North America, Chloroenas micula is a small-bodied columbid known from Quaternary fossil deposits in the United States. Its remains illuminate the Pleistocene avifauna of North America and document the historical diversity of seed-eating doves prior to late Quaternary extinctions and range shifts.
Diet & Feeding
Chloroenas micula was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
