<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="corvus-moriorum"></dinofyi-dinosaur>An extinct crow from the Chatham Islands of New Zealand, Corvus moriorum is named for the Moriori people who inhabited the archipelago. An omnivorous corvid substantially larger than most living crows, it became extinct following Polynesian arrival in the Chathams. Its presence indicates that corvids once reached remote Pacific island groups, where they filled ecological niches as generalist foragers.
Diet & Feeding
Corvus moriorum had a varied diet that included both plants and animals. Omnivorous dinosaurs were versatile feeders, able to exploit multiple food sources, which gave them an advantage in changing environments.
