<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="ichthyornis"></dinofyi-dinosaur>† Ichthyornis — 북아메리카 서부 내해로의 후기 백악기 이빨 조류. 기능적인 이빨을 갖춘 소형 갈매기 유사 어식성(~20 cm 길이)으로, 비조류 공룡과 현대 조류 사이의 과도기 단계를 대표한다. 1872년 O.C. 마시가 발견했으며, 진화생물학에서 매우 중요하다.
식성 및 먹이 섭취
Ichthyornis는 어식성 공룡이었습니다. 어식성 공룡은 주로 수원 근처에 살았으며 물고기를 잡기 위한 길쭉한 주둥이와 원뿔형 이빨 같은 특화된 적응을 가졌습니다.
시대
Ichthyornis는 약 100.5~66.0백만 년 전 Mesozoic대 Cretaceous Late기에 살았습니다.
티라노사우루스 렉스, 트리케라톱스, 벨로키랍토르 같은 상징적인 공룡들이 살았던 공룡 시대의 마지막 시기입니다. 공룡은 최대의 다양성을 이루었으나, 칙술루브 분화구의 소행성 충돌로 중생대가 종말을 맞았습니다.
