<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="melanerpes-formicivorus"></dinofyi-dinosaur>† Orodromeus makelai was a small ornithopod (~2.5m) from the Late Cretaceous Two Medicine Formation of Montana. Originally thought to be nesting at Egg Mountain sites, subsequent analysis showed the nests belonged to Troodon; Orodromeus was actually the prey found in those nests.
Diet & Feeding
Melanerpes formicivorus primarily fed on insects and other small invertebrates. Insectivorous dinosaurs were typically small-bodied and agile, with adaptations suited for catching small prey.
