† Scutellosaurus is an Early Jurassic thyreophoran dinosaur from Arizona, USA, one of the earliest armored dinosaurs. This small, facultatively bipedal herbivore bore rows of small osteoderms along its back, ancestral to later stegosaurs and ankylosaurs.
