Mamenchisauridae

Mamenchisauridae

† Nanhsiungoolithus nui is a second Chinese Late Cretaceous egg oospecies with similar elongated morphology. These elongate eggs are likely attributable to oviraptorid dinosaurs, which are known to brood clutches of elongate eggs in many Chinese Cretaceous sites.

Herbivore

Mamenchisauridae was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.

Time Period

Jurassic Middle Mesozoic Era
