† Eocrex primus — an Eocene rail (Rallidae) from North America. 'First dawn rail' represents an early member of this diverse waterbird family. Small wading bird inhabiting freshwater marshes. Known from Eocene deposits of the United States; part of the early Cenozoic rallid diversification.
