Nocturnavis is an extinct Paleogene owl-like bird from France. Known from limited material, it may represent an early member of the owls (Strigiformes) or an unrelated nocturnal predatory bird from the European Eocene.

Nocturnavis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
