Belgirallus minutus

Belgirallus minutus is an extinct small rail from Oligocene or Miocene deposits of Belgium. This carnivorous rallid wading bird, among the smallest species of the genus, inhabited marsh and wetland environments of Paleogene Europe. Known from isolated postcranial elements, it contributes to the Cenozoic fossil record of rails in the western Palearctic.

Belgirallus minutus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
