This small carnivorous alcid inhabited the cold upwelling waters of the Pliocene Pacific and dived for small fish and invertebrates. Its fossils help anchor the divergence timing of Brachyramphus species in the North Pacific.
Diet & Feeding
Brachyramphus pliocenum was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
