†Dendrocygna eversa is an extinct whistling-duck from Pliocene or Pleistocene deposits of the United States. A member of the anseriform family, this herbivorous waterbird grazed on aquatic plants in freshwater habitats. Its fossils extend the North American record of whistling-ducks and illuminate historical range dynamics within the genus.
Diet & Feeding
Dendrocygna eversa was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
