† Lanius kirchbergensis was a Miocene fossil shrike from Europe, an extinct relative of modern shrikes (Laniidae). Represented by fragmentary remains, it documents the Cenozoic radiation of predatory passerine birds in European fossil assemblages.
Diet & Feeding
Kumimanu fordycei was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
