Vastanavis eocaena is the type species of Vastanavis, from the Cambay Shale Formation of Gujarat. The Cambay Shale contains some of the oldest Eocene land fauna from the Indian subcontinent, predating India's collision with Asia.
Diet & Feeding
Vastanavis eocaena was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
