<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="anhinga-malagurala"></dinofyi-dinosaur>†Anhinga malagurala was an extinct darter bird from Pleistocene to Holocene Australia. A freshwater fish-hunting specialist with a long sharp bill and modified neck vertebrae enabling rapid lunge strikes, it inhabited inland waterways. Its remains indicate that darter birds had a broader Australian distribution before regional wetland contractions during the late Quaternary.
Diet & Feeding
Anhinga malagurala was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
