Caenagnathasia

† Caenagnathasia was a small oviraptorosaur from the Late Cretaceous of Central Asia, representing one of the earliest and most basal members of the family Caenagnathidae. Known from jaw material, it possessed a toothless beak adapted to an omnivorous diet of plant matter, eggs, and small animals. Its discovery in Asia supports hypotheses that caenagnathids originated in Asia before dispersing to North America, contributing to biogeographical models of Late Cretaceous theropod distribution.
