Caieiria allocaudata

† Caieiria allocaudata was a titanosaurian sauropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous of Brazil. As a member of the titanosauria, it was a large, four-legged herbivore that browsed on vegetation. Known from partial postcranial material, the unusual caudal (tail) vertebrae implied by the species name 'allocaudata' distinguish it from other South American titanosaurs. Its discovery contributes to the growing record of titanosaurian diversity in the Late Cretaceous of South America.
