† Gallicolumba nui — an extinct ground pigeon from Pacific islands. Herbivorous island pigeon; the species epithet 'nui' means large in some Pacific languages. Extinct following island colonization. Represents the diverse pre-human ground pigeon fauna of the central Pacific that was largely elimin.
Diet & Feeding
Gallicolumba nui was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
