Otus mauli is an extinct Pleistocene scops-owl from Madeira (Portugal). Known from cave deposits on this Atlantic archipelago island, it went extinct following Portuguese colonization in the 15th century due to hunting and habitat loss.

Otus mauli was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
