† Gargantuavis philoinos — a Late Cretaceous bird from southern France's Marnes Rouges Formation. The largest known Cretaceous bird; estimated body mass ~140 kg suggesting flightless adaptation. Hollow bones present; its herbivore or omnivore habits inferred. Extinct at K-Pg boundary; its affiniti.
