<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="amphispiza"></dinofyi-dinosaur>Amphispiza is a genus of sparrows (family Passerellidae) with both living and fossil species from North America. The genus includes the living Black-throated Sparrow and Sage Sparrow. Fossil species from the Pliocene and Pleistocene of the American West document the ancient history of these desert-adapted sparrows. Their lineage evolved in the arid scrublands of western North America.
Diet & Feeding
Amphispiza was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
