Lenesornis maltshevskyi

Mergellus mochanovi was an extinct smew-like duck from the Pliocene of Russia. A relative of the modern Smew (Mergellus albellus), this fossil diving duck contributes to understanding the Pliocene radiation of mergansers and related diving ducks in Eurasian aquatic environments.
