Agriocharis is an extinct genus of turkeys (family Phasianidae) from the Pliocene and Pleistocene of North America. Larger than the modern Wild Turkey, these galliform birds inhabited the woodlands and open habitats of North America during the Pliocene. The genus went extinct at the end of the Pleistocene along with much of North American megafauna.
Diet & Feeding
Agriocharis was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
