Aldabranas cabri is an extinct goose or duck from the Pleistocene of the Aldabra Atoll in the Indian Ocean. An island-dwelling waterfowl, it became extinct following changes in sea levels that repeatedly submerged and re-exposed the Aldabra Atoll. Named by Olson in 1975, it is one of several remarkable endemic vertebrates that evolved in isolation on this remote Indian Ocean island.
Diet & Feeding
Aldabranas cabri was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
