Amphipelargus

Amphipelargus is an extinct genus of large stork-like birds (family Ciconiidae) from the Miocene and Pliocene of Europe and Asia. These large wading birds inhabited wetland and open habitats. Several species are known from Neogene deposits across Eurasia, documenting the diversity of stork-like birds before the modern ciconiid genera became established during the Pliocene.
