Anabernicula

Anabernicula is an extinct genus of small duck-like waterfowl from the Pliocene and Pleistocene of North America. These small dabbling ducks inhabited freshwater lakes and marshes. Several species are known from the Great Plains and western United States, with remains often found in association with other Pleistocene waterbirds. The genus may be related to modern teal (Anas).
