†Ankonetta larriestrai was a plesiosaur (polycotylid) herbivore-adjacent marine reptile from Late Cretaceous Argentina. A long-necked marine predator with paddle-like limbs, it inhabited the shallow Neuquén Sea that covered much of Patagonia. Its fossils provide key insights into the diversity of Late Cretaceous polycotylid plesiosaurs in the Southern Hemisphere.
