Argoides minimus

Argoides minimus

†Argoides minimus is a dinosaur ichnospecies from the Early Jurassic of the United States, representing the smallest form within the Argoides ichnogenus. These diminutive tracks indicate a small bipedal dinosauriform trackmaker, possibly a juvenile or a dwarfed species. Their tiny size adds important information on the lower end of body size distribution among Early Jurassic dinosaur faunas of North America.

Time Period

Jurassic Early Mesozoic Era

Argoides minimus lived during the Jurassic Early period of the Mesozoic Era, approximately 201.4 to 174.7 million years ago.

After the Triassic-Jurassic extinction, dinosaurs rapidly diversified and became the dominant land vertebrates. Early sauropods and theropods began to evolve larger body sizes.
