†Aquila bivia was an extinct eagle from Pliocene to Pleistocene deposits of North America, related to modern Aquila eagles. A large aerial carnivore that hunted rabbits, ground squirrels, and other medium-sized prey, it contributed to Pliocene-Pleistocene raptor diversity of the continent. Its fossils from Great Plains deposits document the former richness of North American Aquila eagle lineages.
