<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="aquila-bivia"></dinofyi-dinosaur>†Aquila bivia was an extinct eagle from Pliocene to Pleistocene deposits of North America, related to modern Aquila eagles. A large aerial carnivore that hunted rabbits, ground squirrels, and other medium-sized prey, it contributed to Pliocene-Pleistocene raptor diversity of the continent. Its fossils from Great Plains deposits document the former richness of North American Aquila eagle lineages.
Diet & Feeding
Aquila bivia was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
