† Irediparra gallinacea — the comb-crested jacana, a living jacanid shorebird of Australia and New Guinea. Small omnivore; walks on floating vegetation on lily pads using enormously elongated toes. Fossil records from Australian deposits document the species' presence in Pleistocene freshwater eco.
Diet & Feeding
Irediparra gallinacea was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
