Melanitta ceruttii was an extinct scoter duck from Pliocene California, related to modern scoters (sea ducks). This early scoter documents the Pliocene diversity of sea ducks along the Pacific coast of North America before Pleistocene climate changes restructured avian communities.
Diet & Feeding
Latipons gardneri was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
