Mopsitta tanta is an extinct large parrot (Psittacidae) from the early Eocene of Denmark. This crow-sized parrot, known from a single humeral fragment, indicates parrots inhabited high-latitude European forests ~54 million years ago.
Diet & Feeding
Mopsitta tanta was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
