Neophrontops vallecitoensis is an extinct Pliocene accipitrid from California's Anza-Borrego Desert. One of several Neophrontops species, it scavenged carcasses in warm Pliocene North American open habitats.
Diet & Feeding
Neophrontops vallecitoensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
