Onactornis depressus is an extinct Tertiary rail or gruiform bird from the Eocene of Argentina. A ground-dwelling cursorial bird, it inhabited early Cenozoic South American open environments during the period of faunal isolation.
Diet & Feeding
Onactornis depressus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
