Otus murivorus is an extinct giant scops-owl from Mauritius. This large strigid, possibly a top predator of small vertebrates on the island, went extinct following 17th-century European colonization and introduction of rats.
Diet & Feeding
Otus murivorus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
