† Palaeeudyptes klekowskii, the 'Colossus Penguin', was a giant Eocene penguin from Antarctica. Estimated at ~170 cm tall and ~115 kg, it is among the largest penguins ever recorded. Its fossils from Seymour Island document extraordinary size evolution in early Sphenisciformes.
