† Palaeotodus itardiensis was an extinct tody or kingfisher relative (Todidae or Alcediniformes) from Germany. A carnivorous Eocene bird inhabiting European riparian woodlands, it may represent an early member of the tody family prior to their restriction to the Caribbean.
Diet & Feeding
Palaeotodus itardiensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
