† Physornis was a terror bird (Phorusrhacidae) from Argentina. A large cursorial predatory bird, it inhabited Cenozoic South American grasslands and forests. Terror birds were apex predators after the K-Pg extinction, filling niches vacated by non-avian dinosaurs.
Diet & Feeding
Physornis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
