Turnix maculosus (red-backed buttonquail) is a small ground-dwelling bird of Southeast Asia and Australia, including Timor-Leste, unusual among birds for role reversal—females are larger and more brightly colored, while males incubate eggs and raise chicks.
Diet & Feeding
Turnix maculosus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
