Zygodactylus luberonensis is an extinct zygodactylid bird from Miocene deposits of France, one of the last known members of this otherwise Eocene-dominant family. Its persistence into the Miocene documents the slow decline of zygodactylid birds in European ecosystems.
Diet & Feeding
Zygodactylus luberonensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
