†Dakotaraptor steini is a large dromaeosaurid theropod from the Hell Creek Formation of South Dakota, Late Cretaceous. Reaching ~5.5 m in length, it is one of the largest known raptors and coexisted with Tyrannosaurus rex. Its enlarged sickle claw and robust forelimbs indicate an active predator capable of subduing substantial prey.
