Antarcticavis capelambensis

†Antarcticavis capelambensis was a bird of uncertain affinities from the Late Cretaceous of Antarctica. One of the few Cretaceous birds known from Antarctica, it provides important evidence for high-latitude avian diversity during the Late Mesozoic. Its discovery on Vega Island contributes to understanding Gondwanan avian biogeography near the Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary.
